My Name is Olive

And I’ve decided to grow my two bottom teeth in when I’m only one week away from being (turning?) four months old. One’s broken through and the other one is just below the surface.

What? Is that weird or something? Well, maybe that’s just how I’m gonna roll. I’m the super-mellow, good sleeper, early teething baby. I’m TOTALLY a shoo-in to be the fave.

Need a closer look?

My Mom’s friend, Kelly (the one with the cute baby, although I have to say, she’s not as cute as me, right Mom?), was holding me the other day and saw these bad boys coming in. When Kelly told her, my Mom didn’t even believe her. I still don’t think my Mom believes that they are really coming in because she is CONSTANTLY checking to see if they are still there! Seriously, can someone tell her to stop? It’s SO annoying!

Also, would someone tell her that I hate this outfit? She thinks I look all cute, comfy, and cozy…

BUT I CAN’T MOVE MY LIMBS.

I Am Blessed

Around Our House

I’m absolutely loving this print that I got Dave for his birthday. And being a connoisseur of good typography (he’d rather die than use papyrus or comic sans) he likes it too. Today I put it in a frame and hung it up.

I got it from this Etsy shop, The Wheatfield, which is filled with lots of great art. I especially love the posters “You Are My Sunshine” and “Be Kind to Others.”

I think I’m going to start putting art like that up in our home. Not only do I need those reminders, but it can’t hurt for our girls to see/read them on a daily basis as well. I wonder if I could find one that says, “Don’t drive mom crazy today.”

Little Miss Ruby

So a good friend of mine just had a baby girl. Ruby. Isn’t that just the most adorable name? Well, the name fits this precious little girl.

I can honestly say that she is a beautiful newborn.

She has so much hair and long eyelashes, not to mention the most perfect little mouth.

Can you tell she’s not a big fan of being swaddled?

After awhile, big brother woke up from his nap and came downstairs to reclaim his territory (from me mostly).

I think Ruby will have him wrapped around her cute little finger in no time.

Thanks for sharing her with me Kelly!

My Name is Holly

And I am seriously addicted to buying fabric.

These fat quarters are from Heather Bailey’s Nicey Jane line.

I need more.

Like I said, I’m addicted.

The tickets are now diamonds!

No offense to Holly and her Google commercial, but THIS is the best commercial I’ve seen in a long, long time.

A Reason to Stay in Bed

Olive has been on an amazing sleeping streak the last few weeks. I kept thinking it was just a fluke and that if I said anything out loud I would jinx it. It’s become another one of the many reasons why I love her so much. Easy baby=happy mommy.

When she wakes up in the morning Dave brings her into bed with me. She eats, hangs out, kicks, squeals, smiles and then falls back to sleep. If the stars are aligned, I can sneak away and leave her there to nap, while I get ready for the day.

But today, I didn’t want to sneak away. I wanted to lay there with her, stare at her little face, kiss those chubby cheeks, and maybe sneak in a few more minutes of sleep myself.

Then Gwen came in. “Mom, my diaper is wet.”

So I drag myself out of bed, away from this little piece of heaven, to go clean her sister’s bum. And these are the days of my life.

The Outtakes

When I was taking Olive’s three month pictures, Gwen was really wanting in on the action.
